CHARLIE
Charlie was too young. His regular doctor was not informed on different cancers. So working in his fathers bank, as a teller,at 14 years, Charlie began to complain of stomach aches. For six months he lived with the pain being told he was too stressed and had ulcers. Visiting another doctor with his mom and dad he was given the diagnosis that he had testicular cancer. Chemo took his hair and he did not like that. His mother blindly tried to help him with wigs that looked silly on him. Some were comical. Charlie cried over his hair loss. Charlie died six months after his chemo ended.
This is when I had an idea for a wig program. Life went on for me. It took me 30 years to figure it out. I tried to work with the other non-profits just trying to get Adults in the mix. Kids do need wigs. But so do Adults. I still remember Charlie and the fun we had in our early teens. - Timothy
